Entry: King of All Shills

Strange Dog has the King of all Shills:

I'll admit, I am Howard Stern fan. Having said that, as he started to become consumed by Bush hatred, I started to lose interest. When he became the primary promotion vehicle for Farenheit 9/11, I quit listening altogether. He might as well have become Al Franken as far as I was concerned. I drive home in bumper to bumper traffic after working the midnight shift. If you can't keep me awake, I'm not listening. I'll end up asleep and in an accident.

Sounds quite atypical to me. Stern frequently obsesses on single themes, and that's actually part of his allure (going overboard). He's not going to lose listeners on any significant level -- but Bush will almost certainly lose some votes.

Actually, I think it is more likely that Stern will motivate non-voters to go out and vote for Kerry. In any case, I don't disagree with you, there is no doubt that having Stern on the radio bashing Bush can only be bad for the President as a whole. My point was that there are Stern fans who disagree with him, but the press portrays the Stern voting bloc as a monlithic entity.

I started losing interest in Stern years ago. If your commute to work is under 30 minutes, you could easily tune in to hear Stern, and hear nothing but commercials in my market (Chicago). This may not be a popular opinion but if your letting a shock jock influence who you are voting for as president, chances are, you are already a liberal asshat.
